The CIVITA INSTITUTE offers Fellowships and Residency Programs in the Italian hill town of Civita di Bagnoregio. FELLOWSHIPS are open to architects, planners, designers, artists, writers and other arts professionals practicing in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho and the province of British Columbia. RESIDENCIES are open to professionals without regard to location. An integral part of CIVITA INSTITUTE's mission is to promote public discussion of issues related to the built environment. The CIVITA INSTITUTE Fellowships and Residencies provide an opportunity for the recipients to undertake a project related to current or anticipated professional work.
The Astra Zarina Two Month Fellowship’s applicants must have completed seven years of work in their field and must plan to return to the Pacific Northwest upon completion of the Fellowship. This Fellowship covers the costs of restricted coach-class airfare for one person (up to $1250), a $1,500 stipend, and lodging for two months at the CIVITA INSTITUTE in Civita di Bagnoregio. Application Period: 08-01-2014 through 10-15-2014
The Civita One Month Fellowship’s applicants must have completed two years of work in their field and must plan to return to the Pacific Northwest upon completion of the Fellowship. This Fellowship provides lodging for one month at the CIVITA INSTITUTE. Recipients will be responsible for their own financial support, including travel to and from Civita. It is the intention of the One Month program to encourage applicants of varying experience levels; therefore, more weight will be given to the relationship of the applicant's proposal to professional goals. Application Period: 08-01-2014 through 10-15-2014
Residency applicants are independent professionals who will be responsible for their own support and will have full access to the facilities and resources of the Institute. Residents are charged a moderate fee for the use of their apartment and the facility. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information on fees. Applicants’ project proposals are reviewed by the CIVITA INSTITUTE Board for merit and appropriateness to the CIVITA INSTITUTE’s mission. Minimum stay: 2 weeks. Maximum: 2 months. Application Period: Open year around.
